Who We Are

Our Mission: Celebrating the unique gifts of each individual and how they contribute to our growing community.

Our Vision

Training at Unity emphasizes sound anatomical alignment and injury prevention, mind-body connection, celebration of our dance lineage, and the potential of dance and community to invigorate the universal human experience. Here, dancers, families, faculty, and support teams will find a home for both dance and meaningful community connections.

Our Commitment to Equity and Inclusion

We believe that dance can transform and enhance the human experience. At Unity Dance & Movement we know that fostering an equitable and inclusive environment is necessary in cultivating a community that supports and encourages each of its dancers, families, faculty, administrators, and future members. We commit to providing dance education that welcomes members of every race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, faith, income, and any other visible or invisible qualities and identities.

A Note from Our Founder

Dear Neighbor,

I’m Jen Dobbins, the Owner and Director of Unity Dance & Movement, a dance studio in the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood of downtown Bethesda.

I’ve been teaching dance professionally for two decades in the DMV, but my studio began in 2020. When the pandemic closed many local dance studios, parents and students reached out and asked me to teach virtually. Since then, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds, hired faculty, and gradually become a community serving students of all ages and backgrounds.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the Bethesda community since 2022.

If you have questions about our programming, please reach out. Or, if you have ideas how we can serve our neighborhood with additional dance, fitness, or other movement instruction, drop me a line or give me a call! We truly want to be a resource for the community.

Kindest regards,

Jen
